Tinnitus After Covid

Peter Humphries and Tony Blackburn talk tinnitus

One of The Tinnitus Clinic’s first patients, Peter Humphries, was interviewed by well-known DJ, Tony Blackburn, on BBC Radio Berkshire earlier this month.

Tony Blackburn mentioned during the interview that he experiences tinnitus, which he described as a:

“whoosing sound… like being beside the seaside”. He feels that it may be related to the fact that he has “for the last fifty years being playing very, very loud music”.

Peter Humphries can sympathise, having lived with tinnitus for twenty years. However, after receiving Acoustic CR®Neuromodulation treatment at The Tinnitus Clinic in 2011-12, he now rarely hears his tinnitus sound at all. Tony Blackburn also spoke with Mark Williams, the Tinnitus Clinic’s Principal Scientific Audiologist, who explained the neurological causes of tinnitus and the science behind Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation.
