We are now taking bookings for our Harley Street clinic. You can use our online booking system or phone 0800 030 6617 to talk to an administrator.
Our other clinics around the country will be opening soon, so please contact us to find out when the earliest appointment at your preferred clinic will be.
During appointments, our clinicians use appropriate sanitising equipment and PPE (personal protective equipment) which is also available to patients. We also clean surfaces between patient appointments in line with Government guidance and that issued by the British Society of Audiology.
We will require you to answer a few questions before you come into clinic to minimise the risk of spreading COVID-19 infection.
Remember, if you're unable to attend a clinic we run a full telecare service with remote assessments and fittings using video through our e‑consult service.
Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation is a treatment for chronic tonal tinnitus. In 2012, The Tinnitus Clinic Ltd funded a 100 participant Randomised Controlled Double Blind Trial to establish the efficacy of this treatment under independent controlled conditions.
Our Principal Scientific Audiologist, Mark Williams, recently gave a presentation on the success of Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation treatment for tonal tinnitus at the International Tinnitus Seminar in Berlin.
If you experience ringing in your ears or muffled hearing after attending a loud sporting event, it may be only temporary and disappear after a couple of days. However, if it continues, you may wish to talk to your GP about the treatment options available to you or contact The Tinnitus Clinic to book an initial assessment.
Clinicians and researchers associated with The Tinnitus Clinic are presenting their experiences and data at the prestigious International Tinnitus Seminar (I.T.S.) in Berlin from the 21st to 24th May.
In February 2013, The Tinnitus Clinic posted a seven-minute video about Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation, our treatment for tinnitus, on the video-sharing website, YouTube. Earlier this month, the number of views for this video surpassed 100,000.
Tinnitus Desensitisation Therapy™ (TDT) is a new habituation based treatment for tonal and pulsatile tinnitus. Our expert audiologists supply TDT patients with customised devices, designed to sharpen their hearing, dampen their tinnitus, and reduce the stress and anxiety. Through TDT, patients gain control of their tinnitus awareness and, with time, habituate to their tinnitus so that the noise becomes less invasive.
The Tinnitus Clinic’s Managing Director, Josephine Swinhoe has received ‘The New Chartered Director of the Year 2013’ Award at the IoD Director of the Year Awards UK. The prestigious accolade was presented at the UK finals, hosted at The Grange Hotel St Paul’s, earlier this month.
Last week, our Principal Scientific Audiologist, Mark Williams presented a clinical workshop at the British Society of Audiology’s annual conference. Here at The Tinnitus Clinic, we regularly receive enquiries about our evidence-based tinnitus treatments from across the UK. We understand that not everyone who is interested in these treatments is able to travel to our Harley Street, Altrincham or Birmingham clinics. Therefore, in response to demand, we have now opened new consulting rooms in Edinburgh and Cheltenham.
One of The Tinnitus Clinic’s first patients, Peter Humphries, was interviewed by well-known DJ, Tony Blackburn, on BBC Radio Berkshire earlier this month.
Tony Blackburn mentioned during the interview that he experiences tinnitus, which he described as a “whoosing sound… like being beside the seaside”. He feels that it may be related to the fact that he has “for the last fifty years being playing very, very loud music”.
An important part of my mission at The Tinnitus Clinic is to share our knowledge of tinnitus; its causes, how to prevent it and what to do if you are suffering from the condition. This blog will go some way in achieving this aim.
Our patients describe how they overcame their tinnitus following our treatments.
