Study shows Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation gets results

  August 31, 2011

The results of a new study into using Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation for the treatment of tinnitus was presented at the Fifth International TRI (Tinnitus Research Initiative) Tinnitus Conference 2011, in the USA.

The presentation was made on behalf of German ENT Specialist, Dr Hannes Wurzer, relating to a study of 59 patients with tonal tinnitus who received Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation therapy. Half of the patients were over 60, with a 3:1 male to female ratio. Within the group, symptoms ranging from mild to severe/very severe were equally represented.

After six months treatment, two thirds of patients reported an improvement. Of these, half reported a positive outcome, and half experienced significant relief in their symptoms. This demonstrated that a strong improvement had been achieved in “real life” patients with long-standing tinnitus.

In the UK, Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation is available exclusively from The Tinnitus Clinic. The Clinic’s audiologist’s are seeing a similar set of positive results.
