Tinnitus Awareness Week 2013

  January 29, 2013

Tinnitus Awareness Week – the annual event organised by the British Tinnitus Association (BTA) – runs from February 4-10, 2013. This week provides a great opportunity to increase public awareness of tinnitus.

In support of the BTA and people living with tinnitus, The Tinnitus Clinic is organising local radio broadcasts about tinnitus and its management and treatment on Tuesday 5 February. Once we have more details, we will let you know via our Facebook page when and where these interviews will be broadcast. We hope you will listen in.

This year’s Tinnitus Awareness Week celebrates the role of support groups. Support groups can play a vital role in allowing people with tinnitus to share their experiences with others who really understand the effect tinnitus is having on their quality of life. If you would like to find a support group in your area, you can find an interactive map of UK support groups on the BTA website. You may also like to read our Tinnitus Self-Help Guide for other methods of managing your tinnitus.

To find out how you can support the British Tinnitus Association with their awareness-raising efforts, go to their online list of ways to get involved. There are a range of activities you can take part in: from organising an event to distributing a copy of their ‘top ten tips for GPs’ pdf to your local medical centre.

To support the work of the BTA, we will be donating £5 for every tinnitus assessment undertaken in our Clinic in February 2013. For more information or to book your appointment at The Tinnitus Clinic, please contact us using our online form.
